12/1: December Climatology

December is generally one of the coolest months in Mid-Missouri and also the start of the meteorological winter, which runs December through the end February.At the start of the month, average high temperatures are near 46 degrees with lows near 28 degrees. By the end of the month though, average highs are 38 degrees and lows near 20 degrees.For the entire month, Columbia averages just under 2.5″ of rain and 4.4″ of snow.Mid-Missouri also continues to lose daylight, but only ten minutes for the entire month.
