Police Recover Stolen Car

***UPDATE FRIDAY 2:00 P.M.***Columbia police recovered the stolen Ford Taurus Thursday at 4:53 p.m. at the intersection of High Quest Drive and Fenimore Drive. The vehicle was towed to a secure location for evidence processing. There have been no arrests made and the investigation continues.***ORIGINAL STORY***Columbia police are investigating an armed robbery and car theft that happened at the Walmart on West Broadway Tuesday night.Police say the victim gave the suspect a ride from the Walmart. During the ride, the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the victim to drive him to an ATM. Investigators say the suspect also struck the victim in the head and face with the gun, causing minor injuries to the victim.The victim drove to a bank on Broadway in downtown Columbia where he took out money for the suspect. The suspect then stole the victim’s car, keys, wallets and electronics. The car is described as a white 2002 Ford Taurus with Missouri license plates.The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5’8″ tall, slender build.
