Deputies Make “Big Meth Bust”
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies arrested three people Friday morning, and four children aged 2 – 11 years old were turned over to Children’s Services after authorities executed a search warrant at 22720 North Route V, just south of Sturgeon. Deputies seized a methamphetamine lab, stolen property, and discovered possible evidence of animal abuse. Two residents, Forrest “Daniel” Lyons, 29, and his mother Joyce Y. Lyons, 59, were taken to Boone County Jail on suspicion of drug and child endangerment charges. A third person, Shane L. Skaggs, 33, of Higbee is also being held, without bond, on drug charges and as a parole violator. Daniel Lyons’ bond is set at $27,000 and Joyce Lyons’ bond is set at $22,500. Members of the Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT team and drug unit served the search warrant at about 8 a.m. Friday. A motorcycle reported stolen was recovered along with other possible stolen property. Boone County Animal Control officers also responded to the property to investigate evidence of possible abuse to numerous dogs, horses, chickens and rabbits.
