Gas Stations Robbed Overnight

***UPDATE SATURDAY 7:06 P.M. *** Columbia police are trying to obtain the surveillance video to help their search in identifying the masked gunmen behind the separate robberies at the convenience stores. The same Break Time was robbed a week ago, but police caught the suspect after releasing surveillance photos to the media. That man has been charged with robberies at two gas stations on December 7th and 8th.***ORIGINAL STORY*** Columbia police are investigating two separate armed robberies at convenience stores in the western part of the city.Around 8 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the Break Time at 2101 West Ash Street for a report of an armed robbery. Investigators say a white man wearing a ski mask entered the store, showed a hand gun and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.Officers attempted to track the suspect using a K-9 unit, but were unable to locate him.The suspect is described as a white male, average building and standing 5’9″ to 6’1″ tall. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and a ski mask.Then just before 6 a.m. Saturday, an armed robbery was reported at the Phillips 66 on 2200 West Ash Street, directly across the road from the Break Time. In this robbery, a black male entered, showed a hand gun and demanded cash. He also fled the scene on foot heading westbound with an undisclosed amount of money.The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, 6’1″ to 6’2″ tall, and approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing and a mask.No surveillance video is available from either robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
