12/24: Updated Snow Tracker

***UPDATE TUESDAY 7 A.M.***The track of winter storm has shifted farther to the south and east overnight. This means any accumulating snowfall will stay south of I-44 and out of Mid-Missouri. Flurries are possible as far north as I-70, but no accumulation is expected. Travelers should still be well aware that this storm will cause blizzard conditions in southern and southeastern Missouri.***ORIGINAL STORY***The latest forecast models continue to show a more southern track for our Christmas night storm. Measurable snow will be possible in Missouri Tuesday evening into early Wednesday, primarily for areas south of I-44, although light snow and flurries will be possible as far north as I-70.Snow will begin Tuesday evening (6-8pm) near the Lake and I-44 corridor, before spreading as far north as I-70 by midnight. Snowfall accumulations of up to an inch will be possible near Columbia and Jefferson City with higher amounts of 2-4 inches closer to I-44.Northerly winds will also become quite strong, steady around 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph at times. The winds will help to blow any snow around, limiting visibility.
