***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 6:26 P.M.***Police say they are still looking for multiple suspects, including the shooter. They say the Betts brothers and another group were arguing at troubled nightclub, Club Motivation. Wednesday evening, police are not releasing the details about what the argument was over because they say it is a key piece in the investigation. Investigators do not want to tip the suspects off by releasing too many details.”We’re looking for one of the suspects in particular,” Jefferson City Police Captain Doug Shoemaker explained, “I think that reason and that acquaintanceship, as it was, will come out a little bit later on, but we don’t want to reveal too much.” Police believe the argument never escalated until the two sides got to the gas station, but detectives are still trying to get all the stories pieced together so they can know what happened, with certainty. Police say they hope to have more details regarding the other suspects within the next few days.***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 2:05 P.M.***Two people, Byron Betts, 29, and Brandon Betts, 29, were arrested in connection to the shooting. Byron Betts is accused of armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.Brandon Betts is the victim of the assault and also picked up for selling drugs.Investigators say both men were involved in an argument before gunfire started at the gas station.***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 11:12 A.M.***Police expect more information on charges and arrests later Wednesday.Investigators say a confrontation started at Club Motivation before the shooting. Officers emphasized no criminal activity happened there, but only after both parties met again at the gas station near Stadium and Highway 54, when shots rang out.***UPDATE TUESDAY 9:28 P.M. ***Jefferson City Police said Tuesday night following the early morning shooting that they are conducting interviews and following up on leads. They cannot discuss details at this time, but ABC 17 News found out another shooting occurred last New Year’s Day just across the street at another gas station. Two men were shot in that incident. ***ORIGINAL STORY***A man was shot in the face in the early hours of New Year’s Day in Jefferson City.Police confirmed they were called just before 5 a.m. Tuesday to multiple shots fired outside the Phillips 66 on Stadium and Highway 54.Officers later received a report of a gunshot victim at Capital Region Medical Center about a block away from the shooting and connected the victim to the shooting. Officials confirmed the man is stable Tuesday and was later transferred to University Hospital in Columbia.Investigators say they will have more information after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
