Buck-wild
The Missouri Tigers needed every last one of Phil Pressey’s career-high 26 points — especially in the second half when he scored 19 of those points — to help No. 12 Missouri sneak by Bucknell 66-64 on Saturday.Pressey, however, missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 10.3 seconds remaining, setting off a frenzied final few seconds. Down three, Bucknell’s Mike Muscala, who was as good as Frank Haith advertised earlier in the week, went to the free throw line with 1.9 seconds left. Muscala made the first to pull within two but missed the second hoping the Bison could snag a rebound and quickly score to tie. Mizzou freshman Stefan Jankovic, though, rebounded the miss to end the game.Muscala roasted Mizzou all afternoon long. His final stat line read: 25 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists. It was his 10th double-double of the season.Laurence Bowers had 16 points and 8 rebounds trying to keep up with Bucknell’s big man. Pressey made a career-high 10 field goals, and his seven consecutive points down the stretch helped the Tigers (11-2) narrowly complete their seventh consecutive season without a loss to a non-conference opponent at home. Mizzou’s streak sits at 73 straight wins in such games.
