1/8: Mild with Rain on the Way

Southerly winds will continue to send warm air into Missouri, making it feel more like spring the next few days. An upper-level low pressure area drifting through northern Mexico will move east into Texas Tuesday night, picking up gulf moisture as it takes a sharp turn to the north. The system will bring rain to the region late Wednesday. Showers will develop Wednesday evening at the Lake of the Ozarks and move north overnight with some thunder possible through early Thursday morning. Showers will continue through the day Thursday with mild afternoon high temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s. Rainfall amounts of a quarter to half inch are likely with amounts up to an inch possible south of I-70. The rain moves out Thursday evening leaving us with a warm, dry end to the work week.
