Lake Ozark Woman Killed in Crash

A Lake Ozark woman was killed in a single-car crash on Highway 54 in Cole County Monday.According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Leah Schauf’s vehicle went off the left side of the highway around 10 a.m., struck an embankment and became airborne. Troopers say the car then collided with bank of the Moreau River before coming to a rest in the creek bed.Schauf was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital before being taken by helicopter to University Hospital. She was later pronounced dead. Investigators say she was wearing a seat belt.
