Cops Respond to Robbery

***UPDATE 11:15 A.M.***Officers said Ryan Ellingboe, 38, allegedly assaulted and robbed the man at the Sam’s Club parking lot Monday night.The victim, a 27-year-old man, was sitting in his friend’s car while she shopped at Sam’s. Ellingboe is the woman’s boyfriend.Investigators think Ellingboe walked up the car, punched the victim in the face and took his wallet. He went to Dollar Tree and contacted police.Ellingboe is now facing possible charges of second-degree robbery.***ORIGINAL STORY***Columbia police responded to the parking lot between Hyvee and Sam’s Club on Conley Road around 7 p.m. Monday, for reports of an assault and robbery. Officers had three people at gunpoint when ABC 17 News crews arrived on the scene, but those subjects were determined to not be involved in the crime. Firefighters and medics also responded to the scene. Cops say they know who they are looking for, but the suspect is on the loose.
