1/17: Cold Air Looming

Arctic air continues to build in central and northern Canada. Temperatures have dropped to as low as -50 degrees in some areas. This airmass (a not-so-cold version of this cold air) will move south into the Midwest Saturday night through next Tuesday.Highs will be near 40 degrees Thursday, and then warm into the upper 40s and low 50s for Friday and Saturday. The arctic front will drop highs to near 30 degrees Sunday and then low-to-mid 20s Monday and Tuesday. Lows will likely drop into the single digits Tuesday morning with some areas near zero.
