Columbia Police to Host Training

The Columbia Police Department announced Thursday it will offer two training sessions to instruct citizens how to handle an active shooter or violent intruder.The department says the sessions will teach citizens and businesses how to plan and react to an armed intruder.Police will hold the training sessions on Saturday, February 2nd. The first session will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The second will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Both sessions will be at the CPD Training Center located at 5001 Meyer Industrial Driver.Officers say they will be able to accomodate up to 80 people in each session, however anyone interested in attending should contact Sgt.
