Slater Woman Dies in Car Crash

A Saline County woman was killed in a Saturday morning car crash near Slater.According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Rechilda Sample, 65, of Slater was traveling westbound on Missouri State Road 240 around 4:45 a.m. when she crashed head on into a vehicle traveling eastbound.Sample was flown by helicopter to University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the second car, Angel Santiago, 52, of Marshall suffered serious injuries and was flown to a hospital in Kansas City.Troopers say Sample was not wearing a seat belt.
