Deputies say the child was in good health with no injuries. Authorities tried to make contact with a resident in every apartment, but no one knew who the child was, so the child was turned over to Children’s Division.Just before 4 a.m., the legal guardian of the child called 911 to say the child was missing. She told officials she had left the toddler with a 13-year-old to babysit while she went shopping. The babysitter told authorities he fell asleep around 11 p.m. and did not hear the child leave the apartment or deputies trying to contact everyone in the complex.Sheriff Greg White says the child will stay in the custody of the Children’s Division until an investigation is completed.
