Officer Charged: Statutory Rape

A former reserve officer for Stover Police Department is accused of having sex with three underage girls. Some of the alleged crimes happened when he was employed by the city. Aaron Nelson, 23, was charged with six counts of statutory rape in the second degree Monday. According to court documents, he admitted to knowingly having sex with the minors last year. Two of them were 16 years old, the youngest was 15. Stover Police Chief Trampus Jackson said he fired Nelson on Monday, after learning about the allegations. Because the crimes allegedly happened in his California home, police there arrested him Sunday and he will was booked in Moniteau County Jail where he remains Monday on no bond. As of Monday, his bail has yet to be set. Nelson’s arraignment is set on Tuesday in Moniteau County Courthouse in California.
