Slowly warming into the weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny skies will continue through this afternoon. Temperatures will remain cold in the upper 20s and low 30s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the mid 20s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures continue to warm up over the next week. We'll be in the mid 40s tomorrow and Friday, with temperatures into the 50s, even some 60s by early Christmas week. The weather remains quiet for Christmas travel across the Midwest. No major travel issues are expected throughout the center of the nation this weekend or early next weekend. The pattern looks to quickly get active following the holiday, where rain chance and colder weather look to take back over.
