Tracking the return of strong storms

storms

WEDNESDAY: Showers and storms will move in early and stick around throughout the day. A few could become strong to severe, with large hail the primary threat. Highs will top out in the 50's despite a stormy afternoon. For the latest timing and details on those storms, head over to the Insider Blog.

TONIGHT: The severe threat will continue until about 8-9 PM but the rain will stick around. Overnight lows will fall to near 40 as winds turn more northerly by daybreak and pick up. Gusts will reach up to 25 mph.

EXTENDED: Rain moves east by Thursday afternoon, but we'll keep the cool breeze. Highs on Thursday will be the coldest all week, only topping out in the 40's. We get back to the 50's with some sunshine Friday, and keep the warming trend going into the weekend. Highs will threaten 60 Saturday before getting there Sunday. Our next weather-maker moves in late Monday into Tuesday, bringing back the chances for some more rain.
