Jefferson City man killed in Tuesday crash on Range Line

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police say a 46-year-old Jefferson City resident died Tuesday after being hit by a car while lying on Range Line Street.

Cory Black was killed late Tuesday at Range Line and Big Bear Boulevard when a car driven by Paul Kemei, 47, hit him, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. Kemei, who was driving south on Range Line, tried to change lanes to miss hitting Black, police said.

Police did not say why Black was lying in the road and said they don't know whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The road was closed as police investigated the crash.
