Train derailment closes Route A between Route AA and business 63

MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting a train derailed after colliding with a semi at a crossing on Route A between Route AA and Business 63 in Moberly.

There are multiple railroad cars derailed and Route A will be closed overnight and into the day Tuesday.

The Norfolk Southern train was moving westbound when it hit the semi that had stalled at a crossing.

The collision caused the derailment of an estimated 11 rail cars from the train.

There were no injuries or haz mat involved.
