Ameren working to restore power in Ashland

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ameren Missouri crews were working Thursday afternoon to restore power to hundreds of customers in Ashland.

The utility's outage map reported 280 customers without power at about 1:30 p.m. Nearly 1,200 customers were without power when the outage began just after noon.

An Ameren Missouri spokesperson said the utility hopes to have all power restored by 4 p.m. High winds and stormy weather likely contributed to a broken insulator, which caused the power failure, Ameren said.
