Downed power line may have caused Rocheport fire

ROCHEPORT, Mo. (KMIZ)

Today's strong winds may have caused another grass fire in western Boone County.

Firefighters responded to the area off of Highway 40 near Rocheport around 11:30 a.m.

Boone Electric Cooperative reports a power line came detached from an insulator that caused the fire.

A spokeswoman says the windy conditions may have caused the line to come free.
