Three arrested after Jefferson City car assault reported
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jefferson City police arrested three people Sunday after one of them allegedly tried to run down other people in her car.
Officers were called Monday afternoon to the 800 block of East Elm Street, where witnesses and a victim said a woman tried to run over the victim and drove into a parked car. The incident was recorded.
The suspect initially denied hitting the victim and the other car but admitted to it when police told her the incident was on video, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release.
Police took the suspect to the Boone County Jail on suspicion of property damage and assault. She was still in jail Monday morning.
Police say they were sent to the 600 block of Locust Street about two hours later for a disturbance involving several people who were part of the earlier vehicle incident. Officers arrested two 18-year-old women -- one in connection with the vehicle incident and another in connection with the Locust Street incident.
The 18-year-olds were taken to jail but have been released, police say.
Police said the incidents are related and more arrests are possible. They did not release any names of the people arrested.
