HUNTSVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a Randolph County man was killed in a Sunday afternoon crash near the county courthouse.

State troopers said in the crash report that 50-year-old Christopher Callahan, of Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene on Route JJ around 3:30 p.m.

According to the report, Callahan was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on JJ as 20-year-old Ashley Lewis was leaving the parking lot of the Randolph County Justice Center.

Callahan applied his breaks, which locked up, and was thrown from the motorcycle, troopers said. Both vehicles crashed in the middle of the road.

The report did not say if Lewis was hurt in the incident. Troopers say Callahan was wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

Randolph County Sheriff's deputies, Westran firefighters and Randolph County EMS assisted troopers in the crash investigation, reports said.
