Boone County Fire Protection District responds to 11 fires
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Fire Protection District responded to 11 fires Saturday.
The fires were natural cover fires. The department said the largest fire consumed 45 acres of grass and trees.
Several of the fires were threatening homes and other structures. Firefighters were able to get all of the fires under control, but there was minor damage to a porch.
No injuries were reported.
The department is reminding people not to burn when winds are greater than five miles per hour and not to leave them unattended.
