Charges dropped for lack of evidence after California man accused of child sex crimes

CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Charges were dropped in Cole County against a man accused of child sex crimes because of a lack of evidence, the county prosecutor said.

Cole County Sheriff's department arrested Jason Davis, 36, of California, on Thursday for sexual offenses involving a 4-year-old girl.

According to a release, officials say allegations against Davis were brought to the department in January.

According to court documents, Davis allegedly went to the child's bed at night and had intercourse in Aug. 2020.

The victim told family members of what happened and the victim was taken to the Rainbow House.

Court documents claimed the victim told the interviewer what Davis did on a drawing.
