COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A rollover crash led authorities to close the eastbound driving lane of Interstate 70 in the Midway area Tuesday morning.

Boone County Joint Communications issued an alert about the crash a little after 11 a.m., saying the eastbound driving lane was closed at mile marker 119 in Boone County.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash or if anyone was hurt. A spokesman with the Boone County Fire Protection District said the crash appeared to be a rollover involving a single vehicle.

The Missouri Department of Transportation warned of delays in the area on its traveler information map.

Officials reported another crash west of the first crash just before noon. That crash involved three vehicles and one person was hurt, the Boone County Fire District spokesman said. Other details were not immediately available.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a third crash east of the first two crash sites at about 12:30 p.m. The patrol urged drivers to take Highway 40 to get around the section of I-70 where the crashes were slowing traffic.
