Two indicted for murder in Cole County after baby dies with meth in system
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Cole County grand jury has indicted two people on 2nd-degree murder charges after a 2-month-old died with meth in the child's system.
According to the Cole County Sheriff's department, the baby died on Sept. 30 at a home on the 800 block of Pitchfork Ally in Cole County Missouri.
An autopsy performed on the child revealed the child died from a significant amount of Meth being in the infant and the death was ruled as a homicide.
Jason C. Williams and Kayla A. Brewer were both originally charged in October on other crimes.
Williams, is charged with the following 11 felonies:
- 2nd-degree murder
- Abuse or neglect of a child
- Two counts of poss of a controlled substance
- Endangering the welfare of a child causing death
- Delivery of a controlled substance
- Receiving stolen property
- Four counts of endangering the welfare of a child creating a substantial risk
Brewer, is charged with the following 7 felonies:
- 2nd-degree murder
- Abuse or neglect of a child
- Two counts of poss of a controlled substance
- Endangering the welfare of a child causing death
- Delivery of a controlled substance
- Receiving stolen property
Both Williams and Brewer are currently incarcerated and are being held on no bond.
