Tracking freezing temperatures and subzero wind chills for Sunday
TODAY: The system that brought snow on Saturday has exited to the east and left us with brutally cold weather. Temperatures will remain in the single digits for most of the morning with highs in the mid-teens. Wind chills will fall below zero for the morning and keeps feels-like temperatures in the single digits throughout the rest of the day. More light snowfall is possible this afternoon, but no accumulations are expected.
MONDAY: Cloud cover overnight from Sunday will save temperatures from falling back into the single digits. The morning will start off slightly more comfortable in the mid-teens with highs in the low 20s. Wind chills are still expected to fall close to zero in the morning. Another round of snow is possible, but lack of moisture keeps accumulations minimal.
EXTENDED: The rest of the week is spent in the teens to around 20 degrees during the day, with overnight lows in the single digits. With nearly zonal flow, disturbances could bring snow on Wednesday and Friday with very frigid air in place. We continue to cold weather into next weekend with temperatures remaining in the teens and lows hovering just above zero.
