Tracking a dry end to the week followed by more winter weather this weekend

TONIGHT: Decreasing clouds and chilly with gusty westerly winds up to 30 mph. Lows in the low 20s.

TOMORROW: Breezy with partial cloud cover. Highs in the upper 30s to around 40.

EXTENDED: A Weather Alert Day goes into effect on Saturday with another disturbance rolling in from the north that will bring snowfall through evening. Snow showers move in by late morning and move from northwest to southeast during the day. Coupled with gusty winds, we could see low visibility, especially in the afternoon. Snow amounts will range from a dusting to 2" for most areas. Temperatures drop dramatically Saturday night into the single digits, with wind chills falling below zero on Sunday morning. Cloud cover sticks around on Sunday, keeping temperatures in the low 20s during the day, and into the low teens at night. Next week starts off a colder than normal stretch with highs in the mid-20s and a chance for more snowfall on Monday. A few showers will be possible on Tuesday, but high temperatures will be anywhere from 15-20 degrees cooler than average through much of the week.
