Groundbreaking held for Gateway Plaza project

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A project to improve the area around Downtown Columbia is underway.

The city held a groundbreaking ceremony today at the corner of Providence and Broadway for the Gateway Plaza project.

Plans of the project began back in 2016.

City leaders say the entrance will feature a stainless steel sculpture that spells out Columbia.
