WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports 2nd COVID-19 related death this week; announces vaccine stand-by list
Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting one new coronavirus related death. The individual was in the 75-79 age group.
This is the 69th COVID-19 related death since March 18. This is the 11th COVID-19 related death this month.
Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 130 new COVID-19 cases.
The dashboard is currently reporting 595 active cases, an increase of 49 from Tuesday.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 16,389.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 15,725, an increase of 80 from Tuesday.
Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as 74.
The dashboard is reporting the positivity rate of 19.2% for Jan. 15 through last Thursday.
The health department is reporting the total number of hospitalizations in Boone County is 82.
The number of Boone County residents hospitalized is reported to be 23.
The dashboard is reporting 33 COVID-19 patients in the ICU and 17 patients on ventilators.
The hospital status is still currently in the 'yellow' zone.
Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services sent an email to folks who filled out their survey for residents in Phase 1B, Tier 2 to inform them that they are on a stand-by vaccination list.
If PHHS or other local vaccinators has leftover COVID-19 vaccine doses at the end of the day, the department will randomly pick people in Phase 1B, Tier 2 to call depending on how many doses are available.
Officials say by doing this randomly "we hope to ensure equitable access to all. People who are randomly selected will receive a call between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will be asked to arrive at the designated vaccination site within 30 minutes."
Health officials report 1,400 new COVID-19 cases, 23 virus deaths
Missouri state health officials reported more than 1,400 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
An update on the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services coronavirus dashboard said total COVID-19 cases were up to 452,937 -- an increase of 1,444 from Tuesday.
The dashboard included 23 more people have died because of the virus bringing the pandemic total up to 6,709.
Missouri's seven-day coronavirus positivity rate was reported at 10.4% -- just above the CDC's threshold for determining widespread coronavirus.
Health officials launched a new statewide dashboard for coronavirus vaccinations on Tuesday. As of Wednesday morning, the dashboard said 374,742 vaccine doses have been administered in the state.
