Tuscumbia man charged after Miller County wreck sends passenger to hospital with serious injuries

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Tuscumbia man is being charged with DWI - serious physical injury after a Sunday morning wreck on Route A west of Indian Trail Road in Miller County.

According to the online crash report, Joshua Cox was driving when the vehicle went off-road, Cox overcorrected causing the F-350 to overturn.

According to court records, Cox and his passenger needed to be extricated by the Crocker Fire Department.

According to the Missouri Highway State Patrol trooper, Cox was taken out of the vehicle and there was allegedly a strong smell of alcohol coming off of Cox.

A preliminary breath test of Cox revealed his blood alcohol content to be .183% according to court documents.

Court documents state that the passenger in the vehicle has a broken vertebra in the neck, a broken fibula and tibia and nerve damage in the arm.

The passenger was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

Cox has a $25,000 bond.
