Complete effort leads to win for Mizzou women’s basketball

The Mizzou women's basketball team smoked St. Louis in a win it had to have. The Tigers defeated the Billikens 83-58.

The true freshmen, Aijha Blackwell and Hayley Frank, led the way for the Tigers. Both started and combined for 33 points and seven rebounds. Amber Smith added 14 points as well for Mizzou.

Mizzou women's basketball coach Robin Pingeton said, "I'm happy for our team. It's been a tough month of November. We've hit some speed bumps and had some challenging times and some tough days and some hard team talks."

With the win, the Tigers improve to 3-6 and snap a two-game losing streak.

Mizzou heads on the road next to face UMKC on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
