Columbia, Jefferson City observe Martin Luther King Jr. day
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Some city buildings and services will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. day, in both Columbia and Jefferson City.
All city offices will be closed in Columbia, with city hall convening on Tuesday.
City offices will also be closed in Jefferson City with city hall set to meet virtually on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services will not be updating COVID-19 numbers on Monday and will resume on Tuesday.
Columbia's residential curbside trash will not be collected on the observed holiday and will be delayed by one day the remainder of the week. The landfill will also be closed on Monday.
Jefferson City trash services will resume normal pick up routes on Tuesday and will remain normal for the remainder of the week.
Go COMO, Columbia's public transit system, will not operate. Parking meter regulations in both Columbia and Jefferson City will not be enforced on the observed holiday either.
Administrative offices in Columbia for both the police and fire departments will be closed, but all other emergency services will be available.
