Driving conditions in Mexico OK, multiple crashes reported around the area
MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)
Road conditions were mostly clear in Mexico on Friday. Elsewhere in Audrain County, some drivers ran into poor driving conditions.
Cpl. Justin Dunn with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B said troopers received 28 calls as of 11 a.m.
Dunn said that 10 of those calls were for stranded motorists and eight were for crashes. Of the crashes reported, two were injury-related.
"With the weather the way it is and the continued snowfall, MoDOT will have their work cut out for them and keep out most of the day, into the evening and overnight hours," Dunn said.
An ABC 17 News crew on Highway 54 reported roadways were mostly wet. Driving conditions could deteriorate with snowfall expected to continue.
The ABC 17 Stormtrack Team forecasted areas around Mexico could see upwards of an inch of snow.
