Kansas City and Jackson County ease dining restrictions
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Bars and restaurants in Kansas City, Missouri, and its surrounding county will be allowed to stay open a little later, but that doesn’t mean that officials are comfortable that the coronavirus pandemic is starting to ease.
Mayor Quinton Lucas announced during a news conference Wednesday that bars and restaurants can now stay open until midnight.
The previous curfew, aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, was 10 p.m.
The curfew was implemented in November.
Jackson County Executive Frank White Jr. also announced that establishments can serve food and alcohol until midnight starting Thursday.
The Kansas City order is effective immediately.
