Mizzou prevails in battle of top-25 squads

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The No. 10 Mizzou wrestling team dominated No. 21 Central Michigan in dual one of a round-robin bout at the Hearnes Center.

The Tigers didn't start off as they would have liked, with Central Michigan's Drew Hildebrandt taking down Connor Brown in the first match of the day, however, the team bounced back.

Two ranked wins immediately followed Brown's match.

No. 13 Matt Schmitt tallied an 11-1, major decision victory over No. 14 Drew Marten.

Then, Mizzou's No. 14 Allan Hart upset No. 9 Dresden Simon in another major decision. That win made back-to-back ranked win for the Tigers.

Three Columbia-natives also found wins in Mizzou's ranked meet.

Tolton alum Brock Mauller got tested, as Central Michigan's Corbyn Munson put at 4-3 in the first period. However, Mauller took the 149 weight class in a 5-3 decision.

Fellow former Trailblazer Jarrett Jacques also won his match, 8-3.

Mizzou finished off the tri-dual with a victory over Wyoming, which resulted in head coach Brian Smith's 300th career win.
