COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Multiple vehicle crashes slowed traffic on Interstate 70 westbound in Columbia on Monday afternoon.
The Missouri Department of Transportation alerted drivers about the backups at the 131 mile marker near St. Charles Road a little after 1 p.m. Boone County emergency dispatchers urged drivers to avoid the area in public alerts sent a little after 12:30 p.m.
MoDOT's alerts on social media included a photo showing backed-up traffic and a vehicle on its roof in the grass between the interstate and an on-ramp.
