Tracking frigid wind chills for the holiday
After a mild start to the week, winter is finally catching up with the calendar just in time for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A cold front moving in on Wednesday will usher in the coldest air we have seen so far this season, along with gusty winds through Thursday and Friday.

Arctic air from Canada spills south Wednesday night, dropping temperatures from the upper 40s in the morning to the upper teens on Thursday morning.

Gusty northwest winds will push wind chills below ten degrees for most areas south of I-70, and even colder farther north where it will feel like just above zero.

The silver lining will be the sunshine on both Friday and Saturday, but with winds dying down a bit Thursday night, temperatures will tumble into the low teens with another morning of single digit wind chills expected Christmas Day.

Winds will begin to shift back south later on Friday and on into the weekend, making it more bearable to be outdoors, especially on Saturday with highs getting near 50.
