Tracking one more warm and windy day before frigid air arrives

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool. Lows in the low 30s. Winds diminishing overnight.

TOMORROW: Breezy with sunshine, highs in the mid-upper 50s. Clouds gradually increase toward evening.

EXTENDED: The warm up comes to an end on Wednesday as a cold front cuts across the region. Temperatures fall from the upper 40s on Wednesday morning to the low 30s by late afternoon. A few showers will be possible along the front, but wintry weather looks to remain to our east. Frigid air spills in behind the front, along with breezy northwest winds. Temperatures fall into the upper teens to around 20 by Christmas Eve morning, with wind chills in the single digits. We reach highs in the mid-20s, but it will feel like the teens all day with the winds despite the sunshine. Christmas morning will likely be our coldest start of the season with low temperatures in the low to mid-teens and wind chills just above zero. Sunshine continues for Christmas Day and into Saturday, but temperatures warm significantly by Saturday into Sunday. Another shot at rain arrives with our next front on Sunday.
