Tracking a breezy, warmer afternoon today
FRIDAY: Winds have swung out of the south and will start to pick up this morning. Some gusts will reach up around 25-30 mph later today. That will lead to a couple of things this afternoon: highs in the low 50’s, but an elevated fire danger. Outdoor burning is advised against, as dry as we have been for a little while and as breezy as it will be.
TONIGHT: Winds will stay out of the south as we hang on to some cloud cover. Lows will fall into the upper 30’s. A stray sprinkle will be possible near sunrise.
EXTENDED: Many of us will stay dry, but a chance for some drizzle to some light sprinkles will move through Saturday morning. The clouds and cooler temperatures in the lower 40’s might end up being the bigger story. We’ll try to bounce back Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 40’s, warming into the middle 50’s Monday. We’ll be in the 50’s again Tuesday but slight rain chances will return Wednesday as another system moves through. This one could deliver some of the coldest air we’ve seen in this early Winter season in time for the holiday. While we might be cold enough for snow Christmas Eve and Day, we haven’t seen many indications that it will be a white one yet.
