Tracking gusty winds and warmer temperatures to end the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy and chilly with lows in the upper 20s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny with increasing clouds during the day. Breezy, with wind gusts between 25-30 mph. Temperatures are mild with highs reaching the low 50s.

EXTENDED: A cold front approaches the area Friday night, increasing clouds and bringing a chance for a few showers early on Saturday morning. Showers will be scattered if they develop, with a chilly Saturday expected. Highs reach the low 40s with decreasing clouds by Saturday night. Sunday is warmer as sunshine returns and temperatures get back to around 50. Winds pick up from the south as a modest ridge builds to our west Monday and Tuesday, sending us into the mid-upper 50s. Another cold front pushes through on Wednesday, potentially bringing a chance for a few showers along with much colder air Wednesday night. Temperatures on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will likely be in the 20s with lows in the low teens. We begin to rebound by next weekend as temperatures gradually warm and the upper level pattern adjusts with arctic air exiting east.
