No. 9 Georgia’s big second half lifts Bulldogs over No. 25 Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 9 Georgia had too much firepower on Saturday as the Bulldogs beat No. 25 Mizzou 49-14.

"We lost, but hope is not lost," MU football coach Eli Drinkwitz said after the game.

After trailing 14-0 after the first quarter, the Tigers came roaring back to tie the game, 14-14, just before halftime. 37 seconds later - Georgia quarterback JT Daniels connected with George Pickens for a 36-yard touchdown to retake the lead. The Bulldogs took off from there.

Georgia outscored Mizzou 28-0 in the second half, including 21-0 in the third quarter alone.

MU quarterback Connor Bazelak finished the day 17/28 for 139 yards and an interception. Running back Larry Rountree rushed for 16 yards on 14 carries.

Georgia finished with 615 yards of total offense - compared to Mizzou's 200 yards. The Bulldogs had 316 yards on the ground and 299 yards passing. Georgia was 8-13 on third down.

Mizzou falls to 5-4 on the season. The Tigers will wrap up the regular season next Saturday on the road against Mississippi State. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
