Tracking rain Friday and a cold weekend ahead

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with temperatures falling into the upper 30s to around 40.

TOMORROW: Rain likely and chilly with highs in the mid-40s to around 50. Rain amounts reach up to 1".

EXTENDED: The cold front moves in early Friday, bringing light rain after the early morning commute followed by steady showers through the day. The bulk of the rainfall comes to an end by mid-evening, with cloud cover into Saturday morning. Precipitation wrapping around the back side of low pressure could bring another round of showers and potentially a few snow showers mixed with rain for areas north of I-70 through early afternoon. Clouds stick around for Saturday with highs only reaching the low 40s. Sunday is cooler with temperatures getting into the upper 30s. Another storm system sliding by to our south may send a few showers and/or snow showers to areas south of the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44. Generally we stay dry, with a chilly start to next week. Highs next week range from the upper 30s to low 40s with overnight temperatures in the 20s. We could see our next system bringing another round of precipitation by mid-week.
