Boonville man charged after DWI crash injures 3

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

State troopers say a Boonville man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a crash injured three people.

The highway patrol crash report said 21-year-old Michael Flint was driving a 1997 Chevrolet truck east on Santa Fe Road around 3:50 p.m.

Troopers say Flint's truck went off the right side of the road, he then overcorrected and it went off the left side, hit a ditch and several trees.

Highway patrol spokesman Cpl. Kyle Green said the pictures above were taken after the wreck.

Flint and his two passengers, 21-year-old Dakota Bishop and 25-year-old Dakota Wells, both of Boonville, had moderate injuries from the crash, the report said. Troopers said only Bishop was wearing a seatbelt.

All three were taken to a Columbia hospital. University Hospital spokesman Eric Maze said in an email Bishop had been treated and released, Flint was in good condition and that Wells was in serious condition.

The report said Cooper County Sheriff's deputies assisted troopers with the crash.

Flint is charged with two counts of DWI causing serious physical injury, one county of fail to drive on right half of roadway and driver/front seat passenger fail to wear properly agjusted safety belt.

Flint's bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.
