COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a man Monday outside a downtown Columbia gas station after someone fired a gun at Flat Branch Park.

Columbia Police Department Lt. Robert Fox said no one was hurt and no property was damaged in the shooting. The suspect went into a gas station at Locust Street and Providence Road after the shooting, Fox said.

Columbia police cruisers were in the gas station parking lot when an ABC 17 News reporter arrived. The reporter saw police place a man in handcuffs in one of the cruisers. Fox said officers arrested a man on suspicion of having a stolen gun.

The gas station remained open.

It wasn't clear what prompted the incident.
