One taken to hospital following shots fired call

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man has been taken to the hospital following a shots fired call on the corner of Sylvan Lane and Hendrix Drive.

Columbia police responded to the shots fired just before 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

Multiple police vehicles as well as a Boone County ambulance and firetruck were on the scene.

Columbia PD was unable to provide any information and could only confirm they were responding to a shots fired call.

One woman on scene identified herself as the victim's sister and said it was her brother who was shot Sunday morning. She said her brother showed up at the front door of the house with a gunshot wound.

The woman says her brother is okay and police did not have any suspect information to provide to her at the time.
