Near hurricane-force wind gusts pound mid-Missouri Wednesday Morning

THIS AFTERNOON: Winds continue to diminish across the region. Sunshine won't help temperatures too much as breezy winds will amplify wind chills. Bundle up out the door.

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase throughout the overnight hours, but we'll remain dry. Lows fall into the upper 20s.

EXTENDED: Rain is expected to develop into Thursday afternoon. With temperatures near freezing, a few snow showers are possible before precipitation turns over to rain with temperatures getting to near 40 on Thanksgiving Day. Road impacts look minimal with soil temperatures well above freezing all across Mid-Missouri, and warmer than freezing temperatures going into Friday. Rain returns for much of Friday into early Saturday, but we'll be mild for the weekend with highs in the 50s both Friday and Saturday. Sunday is much cooler and breezy, only making it to the low 40s.
