WATCH: Gold Star families memorial groundbreaking in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ground was broken Wednesday on a monument to honor Missouri families who have lost loved ones in war.

The ceremony took place at the site of the future Gold Star Families Memorial next to the Missouri Veterans Memorial at the state Capitol.
