No current COVID-19 concerns for Mizzou after a trip to Florida

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

After knocking on wood, Eli Drinkwitz said he does not have any concerns regarding COVID-19 within his football team after a road trip to Florida.

"But it is 14-day latency period, if you know anything about COVID," he said. "You don't count your chickens before they hatch, but, no, I'm more worried about leg injuries than I am COVID, right now."

Mizzou is working through it's second bye-week of the season, after Florida handed the team a loss on Saturday.

The loss came with a viral halftime fight, which resulted in suspensions on both sides.

"We shared conversations with our commissioner and respect their decision. We're moving on from the incident. Actions have consequences and our actions have consequences," Drinkwitz said.

Drinkwitz added that his main goal for the planned bye-week will be to get more practices in, to prepare for the matchup, than Georgia will be able to.
